Ce projet est une couche d'abstraction de cache et une norme d'interface pour PHP, définissant spécifiquement la spécification de mise en cache PSR-6. Il établit un ensemble cohérent de définitions de types et de contrats pour les éléments et pools de cache afin d'assurer l'interopérabilité entre différentes bibliothèques PHP.
La spécification empêche le verrouillage propriétaire en séparant la logique de mise en cache de haut niveau des implémentations de stockage de bas niveau. Cela permet de remplacer différents backends de mise en cache sans nécessiter de modifications du code de l'application.
