    UDPspeeder est un outil d'accélération réseau et un proxy résistant aux pertes qui utilise la correction d'erreur directe (FEC) et le tunneling UDP pour maintenir le débit sur des connexions instables et avec pertes. Il fonctionne comme un tunnel de trafic inter-protocoles qui enveloppe le trafic TCP, UDP et ICMP dans un flux UDP unique pour réduire la perte de paquets et améliorer la stabilité. Le projet se spécialise dans l'amélioration de la connectivité sur les chemins à haute latence en ajoutant des données redondantes au flux via un codage de redondance au niveau des paquets. Cette approche lui permet de stabiliser les flux de données et d'augmenter les vitesses de téléchargement pour les utilisateurs subissant des pertes de paquets et une gigue fréquentes. Le système fournit des capacités pour l'encapsulation transparente du trafic et le tunneling réseau sécurisé. Il inclut également un mécanisme pour les mises à jour de paramètres dynamiques, permettant aux paramètres opérationnels d'être modifiés en temps réel via un tube nommé sans redémarrer le processus actif.
