Android SMS Gateway este o infrastructură de mesagerie self-hosted care transformă dispozitivele Android în gateway-uri programabile pentru trimiterea și primirea mesajelor SMS și MMS. Prin expunerea unui API RESTful local și a unei punți SMPP, proiectul permite dezvoltatorilor să integreze capabilitățile de mesagerie celulară direct în propriile aplicații, fără a se baza pe furnizori cloud terți.
Platforma se distinge prin funcții avansate de gestionare a traficului și orchestrare, concepute pentru mesagerie de mare volum. Include un motor de rutare multi-SIM care distribuie traficul de ieșire pe mai multe dispozitive conectate pentru a optimiza throughput-ul, a gestiona costurile și a ocoli limitele impuse de operatori. Pentru a asigura livrarea fiabilă și a evita filtrele de spam, gateway-ul încorporează limitarea automată a traficului (throttling), rotația SIM-urilor și strategii de reîncercare cu backoff exponențial.
Sistemul oferă o suită cuprinzătoare de instrumente pentru automatizare securizată și control administrativ. Suportă criptarea mesajelor end-to-end, semnarea criptografică a payload-urilor pentru webhooks și autentificarea API pentru a proteja datele sensibile. În plus, gateway-ul oferă vizibilitate profundă asupra stării hardware-ului, inclusiv detalii SIM și telemetrie de sistem, permițând în același timp configurarea flexibilă a expunerii rețelei și programarea mesajelor.
Proiectul este conceput pentru deployment local și include suport pentru tunelare securizată și gestionarea certificatelor pentru a facilita dezvoltarea și testarea.
