ShadowsocksR es una implementación basada en Python de un servidor proxy SOCKS5 diseñado para tunelizar el tráfico de red a través de conexiones cifradas. Funciona como un túnel de red cifrado que ofusca el tráfico de internet para eludir restricciones de red y firewalls.
El proyecto incluye funciones de endurecimiento de seguridad para proteger el servidor proxy contra accesos no autorizados, específicamente bloqueando direcciones IP que intentan ataques de fuerza bruta a las credenciales.
El servidor gestiona tráfico TCP y UDP bidireccional y puede ejecutarse como un demonio de sistema en segundo plano para mantener una conectividad persistente. Soporta cifrado de clave simétrica y utiliza configuración basada en archivos para gestionar los ajustes del servidor y las claves de cifrado.
