Phpipam

phpipam is a web-based IP address management system and network asset manager used for tracking IPv4 and IPv6 address allocations, subnet masks, and network metadata. It functions as a centralized registry for coordinating virtual local area networks, routing instances, and DNS records.

The platform includes data center infrastructure management capabilities to map physical hardware rack layouts and device placements. It also operates as a network scanner that identifies active addresses and monitors network capacity by automatically scanning subnets.

The system provides a REST API for programmatically modifying network records and supports enterprise administration through role-based access control and directory service authentication. Additional capabilities cover subnet mask calculations, network data imports, and the coordination of domain records with external name servers.

Features

  • IP Address Management Systems - Functions as a centralized system for tracking and managing IPv4 and IPv6 address allocations.
  • Network Asset Management - Coordinates DNS records, virtual local area networks, and routing instances in a centralized registry.
  • Network Environment Scanning - Automatically scans subnets to identify active and available addresses to verify real-time network status.
  • Subnet Calculators - Includes a calculation engine to determine network boundaries and available address ranges for IPv4 and IPv6.
  • Network Administration - Manages subnet allocations and access permissions for large teams using role-based control and directory services.
  • Permission-Based Access Control - Restricts subnet access using user groups and integrates authentication through directory service protocols.
  • Role-Based Access Control - Implements role-based access control to manage tiered read and write privileges across different user groups.
  • Network Discovery Scanners - Provides automated scanning of subnets to identify active hosts and monitor network capacity.
  • Allocation Workflows - Request new address allocations through a formalized submission and approval process.
  • DNS Record Updaters - Synchronizes internal IP address records with external DNS providers to ensure domain mappings remain current.
  • Network Infrastructure and Configuration - Maps physical rack layouts and virtual network configurations to maintain an accurate hardware and VLAN inventory.
  • Rack Layout Management - Provides data center infrastructure management to map physical hardware rack layouts and device placements.
  • Programmatic API Interfaces - Provides a programmatic API interface for automating the management of network address records.
  • REST API Interfaces - Exposes a RESTful API for programmatic retrieval and modification of network address records.
  • Virtual Local Area Networks - Administers virtual local area networks and routing instances to organize network traffic.
  • Data Center Infrastructure Management - Includes data center infrastructure management for modeling physical rack placement and hardware layouts.
  • Network Scanners - Identifies active addresses and monitors network capacity by automatically scanning subnets.
  • Network Configuration Management - Open source IP address management with DNS integration.
