Srs

SRS is a real-time media server designed to ingest, route, and distribute live audio and video streams across various transport protocols. It functions as a multi-protocol stream relay, including a dedicated RTMP media gateway and a WebRTC signaling server to coordinate peer-to-peer media exchanges.

The system features a multi-protocol relay engine that transforms incoming media packets between different transport formats without re-encoding. This allows it to serve as a video delivery proxy that routes live media from a single source to multiple concurrent viewers using diverse delivery protocols.

The platform covers broader capabilities in media processing, including codec-agnostic pipelines and live stream archiving to local storage. It also provides an HTTP-based management interface for programmatic control and an event-driven system to trigger external scripts and applications.

Features

  • Media Servers - Acts as a comprehensive media server that ingests, routes, and distributes live audio and video streams.
  • Media Relays - Routes live audio and video streams from a single source to multiple viewers using diverse delivery protocols.
  • Remote Media Ingestion - Receives real-time audio and video streams via industry-standard protocols for subsequent processing and distribution.
  • Stream Relays - Provides a multi-protocol relay engine to synchronize and forward live media streams between diverse transport protocols.
  • Media Distribution Networks - Relays incoming media to multiple concurrent viewers across various protocols to ensure wide accessibility.
  • Real-Time Media Streaming - Receives live audio and video streams and distributes them to multiple viewers using protocols like RTMP and SRT.
  • Media Streaming - Routes live audio and video streams from sources to multiple playback clients using a multi-protocol relay engine.
  • Streaming Protocol Adapters - Transforms media packets between different transport formats without re-encoding to ensure client compatibility.
  • Signaling Servers - Implements a signaling server to coordinate handshakes and metadata exchange between WebRTC peers.
  • Video Delivery Proxies - Routes and manages the flow of live media from a source to end users to optimize delivery and accessibility.
  • WebRTC Media Orchestration - Establishes low-latency peer-to-peer media exchanges by managing signaling and connection parameters.
  • Stream Recorders - Captures live incoming streams and saves them as files for later playback or permanent storage.
  • Stream Archiving - Captures incoming live media buffers and persists them to local storage for permanent archiving.
  • Workflow Automation Triggers - Executes external scripts or tools in response to specific system events to automate operational workflows.
  • Media Proxy Services - Deploys a proxy server to manage the routing and delivery of live media streams.
  • Event-Driven Triggers - Automatically triggers external scripts and tools in response to specific server events to automate workflows.
  • Codec and Encoding Utilities - Processes various audio and video encoding formats to ensure broad compatibility across client devices.
  • Agnostic Pipelines - Processes various audio and video encoding formats through a unified internal pipeline to maintain device compatibility.
  • Media Protocol Gateways - Implements an RTMP gateway that converts incoming streams into delivery formats like HLS and DASH.
  • Management Interfaces - Exposes server controls and session management via standardized HTTP endpoints for programmatic configuration.
  • Server Management APIs - Provides standardized HTTP endpoints for programmatic control of server operations and communication sessions.
  • DevOps & Infrastructure - High-efficiency real-time media server
  • Media & Communication - Real-time media server.
  • Video Streaming - High-efficiency server supporting multiple real-time streaming protocols.
