Libreddit es un cliente y frontend de Reddit centrado en la privacidad que actúa como un proxy web que preserva la privacidad. Proporciona una interfaz web ligera para ver hilos y medios de Reddit a través de un servidor intermediario para evitar que la plataforma original rastree la actividad e identidad del usuario.
El proyecto elimina anuncios, scripts de rastreo y ejecución de JavaScript para permitir el consumo de contenido sin anuncios y la navegación web sin JavaScript. Utiliza proxy del lado del servidor y proxy de medios para obtener contenido y volver a servir imágenes y videos, ocultando la dirección IP del usuario de la plataforma externa.
El sistema asegura aún más la experiencia de navegación entregando HTML estático y aplicando una estricta Política de Seguridad de Contenido para restringir que el navegador realice solicitudes de red externas no autorizadas.
